What the advisor uses
The free advisor uses the answers you enter, such as computer model, approximate configuration, purchase timing, workload, budget, and region. A browser may help suggest language, operating system family, and region. It cannot reliably read your exact computer model, memory, or storage.
Images
If image recognition is available and you choose to upload a system-information screenshot, the image is sent only for that recognition request. The app validates the file type and size and does not intentionally store the original image in application logs or report records. Avoid uploading serial numbers, account names, email addresses, or other personal information.
Free drafts and analytics
Questionnaire drafts are stored in your browser. Operational events record the step, verdict type, delivery state, and error code without the free-text answer, image, payment credentials, or exact device details.
Paid reports
Payment is handled by Waffo Pancake. The payment provider collects the billing email and payment details under its own terms. MacUpgradeAdvisor uses an encrypted assessment payload and a random report reference to reconstruct the paid report. The secure report link expires after at least 30 days. Payment records may be retained by the payment provider for financial, tax, fraud, refund, and legal obligations.
